This fall I took a step back from the craziness of wedding photography and asked myself one question, “If I would have had the opportunity to elope, where would I have done it? And what would I have wanted?”. Something about whisking yourself away with the love of your life, and saying I do, always seemed so magical to me. So, I started to decide how I wanted to make that magic come to life.
I quickly realized that an elopement for me would have had these things..
- The background of the mountains in Colorado. Specifically Vail, because Holy Moly.
- That perfect fall weather, where we could enjoy the crispness of the air without sweating or freezing our booty’s off!
- The most romantic dress with sleeves, my man with no tie in sight, and the richest colored flowers in my bouquet.
- Most importantly, total focus on just the two of us.
And I think we did just that! Moriah and Adam packed up and Drove down from Denver with their sweet pup Archie. To get there, we bumbled down a ten mile dirt road to end at the oasis that is Piney River Ranch. We walked alongside a lake and watched as moose, YES MOOSE, walked out from the forrest and into the water. Most importantly we spent time focusing on all the details we’d worked so hard on, and making sure to stop and take in just how awesome this place really was.
After my trip to Vail this fall, I made it a note to go again…and again! In fact, we’ll be there two more times before summer ends! I have to think that part of that was from having such an amazing experience with all of the people who made this little love story of mine come to life!
